Industrial-scale controlled-environment drying
Where the specification holds or fails.
Every upstream component exists to deliver clean air at a controlled temperature into this chamber. Everything that determines final quality — uniformity, colour, moisture consistency, microbial safety — is decided by what happens inside it.
Two configurations, one platform. The drying stage can be built as the continuous tunnel dryers described here, or as insulated Rockwool panel rooms — both served by the same central cashew-shell heat plant. The choice is driven by site, volume and batch handling.
Chamber construction
| Panel system | 100 mm prefabricated sandwich panels, continuous-process manufactured |
| Core | High-density lamellar rockwool, min. 100 kg/m³ |
| Facing sheets | 0.5 mm TCT min., 240 MPa, galvalume with 150 gsm alu-zinc coating |
| Thermal conductivity | 0.04 W/m·K maximum |
| Fire rating | 120 minutes; non-combustible to BS 476 Part 4; Euro Class A1 to EN 13501-1 |
| Water absorption | under 1% to BS 2972:75 |
| Moisture resistance | under 0.02 vol% to ASTM C 1104 |
| Sound reduction | 25–30 dB transmission loss |
Doors: 40 mm double-leaf fire-rated, 2440 × 2590 mm with frame; stainless hinges, 200 × 300 mm view glass, door and drop seals.
Air distribution
- Dedicated chamber blower — 3 HP, belt driven, 600 mm impeller, drawing hot air into the chamber.
- Twin axial circulation fans per tunnel — establishing an even flow pattern throughout the load.
- Volume-control dampers — precise supply regulation, allowing chambers to run different products simultaneously.
- MERV 8 filtration — clean supply air, protecting both product quality and equipment.
- Exhaust system — continuous removal of moisture-laden air, without which drying rate collapses as humidity rises.

| Air velocity | 2.0–3.0 m/s, product dependent |
| Automation | Full PLC control with recipe management |
| Configuration | Single chamber to multi-tunnel plant (Banfora = six tunnels) |
Product parameters
- Mango — 65–70 °C, 2.5–3.0 m/s, 30–40% RH, 16–20 h, 12–14% final moisture, 35–40 kg/m².
- Fish — 45–50 °C, 2.0–2.5 m/s, 35–45% RH, 24–30 h, 15–20% final moisture, 25–30 kg/m².
Quality assurance: temperature mapping at commissioning · in-process sampling ports · full cycle data logging for traceability and buyer audit · alarm on parameter deviation.
