Fruit processing discards roughly 40% of delivered fruit as peel and seed, which spoils within hours in Sahelian heat. Dried and pelletised, that waste becomes a shelf-stable livestock feed — a second saleable product from the incoming fruit you already pay to process.

Why the economics work here

The classic objection to drying fruit waste is that the drying fuel costs more than the feed is worth. That objection is removed when the biomass burner already makes low-cost heat and the feed line runs in the same season, while the plant is already lit.

A documented caution. A Venezuelan mango-waste feed plant abandoned its dryer because, even with cheap fuel oil, drying cost exceeded feed value. The lesson is that the economics live or die on the cost of heat — exactly the condition our near-free cashew-shell heat satisfies.

Mass balance — a 5 t/day line

The controlling fact is water: of 5,000 kg wet waste, ~4,000 kg is water and only ~1,000 kg is dry solid. Water is removed in the cheapest order — mechanically first, then thermally.

Mango does not press like citrus — peel presses poorly, so the 72% press figure is treated as optimistic and the dryer is sized with margin for a wetter feed.

Where we draw the line. GreenMach supplies the biomass burner, heat and the dryer; the mechanical densification machines (shredder, screw press, hammer mill, ring-die pellet mill, cooler, bagging) come from a specialist feed-equipment OEM. The dryer appears to the OEM only as an input and an output — keeping our core heat and drying technology out of supplier view.
